Areas of Work
DM Driveways by name, but not just driveways by nature. Our services go far beyond laying brick pavia or flagstone driveways. The list below will give you a flavour of the types of job we provide here at DM driveways, but please do not feel it is limited to this list.
- Driveways
- Driveway restoration – renovation of existing driveways
- Driveway sealing – expanding the life of existing driveways
- Patio areas
- Brick Barbecue areas
- Kerbing
- Flowerbed edging
- Fencing
- Doorsteps
- Garden feature areas
- And much much more….
Work Structure
Whatever your area of work the work structure is always the same.
Step one - The first meeting – DM Driveways will send a representative out to your home at a time of day that suits you.
|
Step two - Design consultation & Site survey- Our DM Driveways rep. Will sit with you and discuss your exact needs, working closely with both your wishes and your budget to provide you with a perfect patio or driveway etc. Our rep will be able to show even more sample photographs of previous jobs done and will be able to help you decide on pattern and colour selection. While at your home our rep will take measurements of the driveway or patio to be laid.
|
|
Step three – the quotation – DM Driveways will assess exactly what is needed in terms of material be it pavia brick, flagstones or kerbing – in addition we well identify quantities of hardcore, sand, edging bricks etc need to do the job. Once that is done we will draft you a quotation and send it to you – backed by our guarantee.
|
| Step four – Acceptance of the work. Once you are happy with the quality of the work we can deliver we ask that you secure our services with a 10% deposit.
Step Five – You sit back and have a cup of tea.
Step Six - DM driveways will then handle the rest. We will:
- order and arrange for the timely delivery of all materials to the site (photo right).
- prepare all ground ready for your new driveway.
- Removing any existing installations where needed and excavating to the required depth (see Samples page).
- lay the sub-surface i.e. any hardcore, sand, etc. needed to ensure the final driveway is sturdy.
- We will even help you by laying and cables you may wish to be placed under your drive (see NOTE below).
- Compact the sub surface before laying the actual driveway.
- then finally we be grout the area and ensure the job is complete.

 |
| Step Seven – We ask that you check out your new driveway and ensure you are happy with the final job. |
It’s (almost) Never too late Throughout the job we will check to ensure you are happy with our progress. If for example (picture right) we are adding a circle to a patio area, then once we get to the point of laying the circle in the patio we will confirm were you want it – maybe a bit to the left, maybe a bit to the right etc. In that way there are no surprises on the last day. |
 |
Note: While we do offer such services as laying electrical cables under your driveway or patio etc we ask that you supply the cable and that the cable is disconnected from the main electrical supply when we are laying it. As we are not qualified electricians we can not advise on the type of cable etc. for you garden needs.
TIP: While flagstones and pavia can be lifted we do not recommend this is done unless extremely necessary – it is therefore advisable that you do take the time to think about your long term garden needs. Are you going to put lighting in? Are you intending to put a water feature in? Do you want a security light at the far side of your driveway or patio? Do you want a intercom or electrically controlled security gate at the bottom of your drive? If the answer to any of these question is yes – even if it is going to be two years from now, then you are better to lay the appropriate service cables for these appliances now – to avoid later disruption to your drive way. |
